Yalova Restaurant

A comment on the first of our Bozcaada posts was ‘What would Bozcaada be without Yalova Restaurant’. Since it was so highly recommended, of course we did not skip it. Since our time on the island was limited and we had had enough to eat, we planned our route to stop by their branch in Çanakkale city center on our way back to Istanbul. After getting our recommendations from Vinea Bozcaada, who hosted us on the island, we set off.

⌛️ The location of this restaurant on the island is in a very pleasant place as you walk towards Salhane. Highly recommended for those with more time on the island.

🚗 Çanakkale branch is located an average of 1 hour drive after passing through Geyikli. One detail we didn’t think about until we got out of the car was whether they would accept our dog Robin. Fortunately, we never had any problems; We sat at a table in an open area towards the sea;

🍽 This restaurant was opened in 1940 by Ziya Sürgit as a small place called “Tek Tekçi” where he would have a good time with his friends and eat and drink at the same time. Known as “Ziya’nın Yeri”, the venue eventually changed its name to “Yalova” at the request of close friends. It transforms and shifts over time to become what it is today. Behind their success are carefully selected, fresh and local ingredients.

🍤 Let’s talk a little bit about what we ate, since we were already half full, we only tried the dishes recommended to us. The artichoke fava, salad with dried tomatoes, figs and crispy zucchini were delicious. The calamari, shrimp and octopus were very, very good.

🗺 Yalova Restaurant is a place worth traveling to just for the dining experience here. We can say that it is a bit expensive compared to its counterparts.

🥮 The famous cheese halva of Çanakkale, which we tried for dessert, was also very delicious. We had tasted it at Battı Balık in Bozcaada the day before, and we can say that everything we ate was much better in Yalova.

Vahit'in Yeri

Our first stop on the island was Vahit’in Yeri. 🍤

🌊 It is a great location to swim in Ayazma bay, which you can see at the end, and relax by enjoying a meal during the day against the view.

👨🏻‍🍳 The thing that impressed us the most on the island was the interest and friendliness of the staff, we can say that we left almost all the places we went to with extremely good service. We think that the fact that we went in an off-peak period is also a plus. Vahit’in Yeri is one of the places we left satisfied.

🐶 As dog travelers, we also admired the animal friendliness of the venues.

🍽 The portions were very filling, the salads and appetizers were very successful. Our favorite dish was the crispy octopus served with beğendi. As for the calamari, we can say that we found it a bit oily.

Vahit’in Yeri is one of the places that has been serving successfully for many years at the top of Ayazma Beach in Bozcaada. It is also a very pleasant place. Those who are planning to go should not forget to add this stop to their routes.

Talay Winery

Famous for its unique grapes, delicious wines and vineyard culture, Bozcaada has many places where you can taste wine. We have listed these places on our map of Bozcaada.

On this visit we had a tasting at Talay, one of the well-established wine producers of the island. One of the island’s largest producers, this business has been in business since 1948.

For the tasting, you can taste 5 wines of your choice from the wine menu.

Coffee Shelter

Our favorite coffee shop in Bozcaada, Coffee Shelter. We love the details in the interior design, the coffee and the sweet snacks that accompany it.

It is definitely one of the places to visit when you go to Bozcaada.
