When to go to Copenhagen?

Although Copenhagen has a different beauty in every season, it is much more enjoyable to enjoy the city in summer and spring. While the Mediterranean countries are scorching in summer, the weather in Copenhagen is usually mild and gorgeous. If you are only visiting once, we recommend you to get acquainted with this fascinating city in good weather. In winter, despite the cold weather, it is possible to feel the spirit of the city, especially with the Christmas markets.

Where did we stay?

On our last visit, we stayed at Numa Staysin Nørrebro. It offered a very pleasant experience with its proximity to the centre and the restaurants and cafes around it. It was also close to the tram stops and the railway station, which made transportation very easy.

Restaurant Experiences

Copenhagen is a city that fascinates with its food culture. On my first visit (2016), I was fascinated by the city’s relationship with food; in 2018, I was even lucky enough to work in a bakery here for a short time. Since then, I’ve continued to follow the food scene here and I don’t think I’ll ever get bored of Copenhagen. Here are the 12 highlights from our last trip!

1. Slurp Ramen Joint

If I couldonly go to one place in Copenhagen, I would choose this place. Opened by a chef who previously worked at Noma, this small ramen shop is one of the best in the city. The flavours are really impeccable.

2. Marv&Ben

Bib Gourmand award in the Michelin guide, A great option for a budget-friendly Nordic dinner. Be sure to try the 6-course tasting menu on your first visit.

3. SURT

SURT is one of the 50 best pizzerias in Europe, stands out with its dough and quality of ingredients. The ingredients selected from small producers add a distinct flavour to the pizzas.

4. Warpigs Brewpub

If you are a fan of barbecue and beer , Warpigs is for you. Located in the Meatpacking District, this place is perfect for a pleasant and hearty dinner.

5. Il Buco

A Nordic restaurant inspired by Italian cuisine. A great stop for a meal in a warm and cosy atmosphere. This restaurant has recently closed unfortunately.

6. Bæst

Sister pizza restaurant next to Mirabelle. Their unique brunch on Sundays is very popular. Reservation is a must!

7. Ripotot

It is an ideal address to experience Denmark’s famous smørrebrød (buttered bread) flavour. Aamanns and Selma are also good alternatives to try this traditional meal.

8. Kødbyens Fiskebar

Kødbyen (Meatpacking District) is one of Copenhagen’s converted industrial areas. Fiskebar in this area offers fresh seafood. Iespecially recommend tasting the oysters or trying the fish caught the previous evening.

9. Gasoline Grill

The first place that comes to mind when it comes to burgers in Copenhagen. But beware! Not every branch offers the same quality. Our favourite is their original address; we recommend avoiding Tivoli and other branches. Popl Burger is also very successful.

10. Poulette

I’m not sure if we can say Dua Lipa made this place famous. But if you want to eat a simple and delicious crispy chicken burger, this is the right address. Don’t have too high expectations though.

11. Hija de Sanchez

One of the places we enjoyed the most. For those who like Mexican cuisine , Kodbyen and They have small but full of flavour shops in Torvehallerne KBH. The fact that everything is handmade adds a different pleasure.

12. Mangia

This place , which stands out with its fresh pasta, is ideal for Italian cuisine lovers. However, it is worth mentioning that the service is a little problematic.
